The nationwide coronavirus lockdown will be extended by two weeks after May 4, that is till May 17. The home ministry has also issued new guidelines to regulate different activities in this period, which are based on zones.
With a little relaxation for this next period, travel by air, rail, metro and inter-state movement by road will remain banned.
Educational institutions, hospitality services, cinema halls, malls, gyms will also stay shut. India has reported more than 35,500 positive cases for the novel coronavirus, while it has succumbed over 1,160 across India.
